Polish President Andrzej Duda has expressed confidence that Donald Trump is the one who can influence Russia and stop its aggression against Ukraine.

Speaking to the Axel Springer Global Reporters Network, as quoted by Politico, Duda stressed that the United States has effective economic tools that can force the Kremlin to make concessions.

«America can use various economic tools to force Russia to take certain actions. So if anyone is able to force Vladimir Putin to make peace, it is America, the President of the United States,» Andrzej Duda said.

In his opinion, only Trump has the real leverage to force Vladimir Putin to the negotiating table. The Polish leader noted that after his personal meetings with Putin, Trump «saw the real picture».

«He can see what his position is and how ready he is to engage in serious negotiations to end the war,» Andrzej Duda said.

He also noted that Trump has the means to block the key interests of the Russian leadership. He stressed that these are radical economic measures that, in his opinion, Trump is ready to implement.

As a reminder, US President Donald Trump claims that in negotiations to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian war, the US is closer to one of the parties. However, he did not want to name this party.

Earlier, the Kremlin reported that Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with US Special Envoy Steve Vitkoff, confirmed his readiness to negotiate with Ukraine without preconditions.

It should also be noted that Donald Trump expressed disappointment over the Russian missile strike on Kyiv and said he was not sure about Vladimir Putin's readiness to end the war.
