The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said that during the talks in London, the Ukrainian delegation confirmed three key principles of a peaceful settlement of the war with Russia.
This was stated at a briefing on 25 April by Foreign Ministry spokesman Heorhii Tykhyi, according to Hromadske.
According to him, Ukraine will never recognise any part of its territory as Russian. In addition, Ukraine will not agree to any restrictions on its armed forces, defence capabilities, military industry or assistance from partners.
The third principle is that no third country has the right to veto Ukraine's accession to NATO or the EU.
«These are three key positions that Ukraine firmly adheres to. And I can frankly say that it was voiced not only at these negotiations, but also at previous ones», said Tyhyi.
He also urged to rely on official information and not to react emotionally to various media reports about possible peace plans.
«Anyone can deal with these issues. I'm sorry to speak in plain language, but most of these «information leaks» are not true. And if I start commenting on each such message, I will only legitimise them», the Foreign Ministry spokesman explained.
Earlier it was reported that the plan of US proposals for the settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian war stipulates that Russia should return the occupied part of Kharkiv region to Ukraine.
Earlier it was reported that The Telegraph had learned the details of Kyiv's demands for a potential peace agreement, which consist of five points and differ from the US plan.
As a reminder, US President Donald Trump has presented «a final proposal» for a peaceful settlement of Russia's war against Ukraine. Axios stated that it includes a freeze on the frontline and security guarantees for Ukraine.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump commented on Volodymyr Zelenskyy' s statement, in which the Ukrainian leader stressed that Ukraine would never legally recognise the annexation of Crimea.
As reported, the Financial Times, citing three informed sources, wrote that Russian President Vladimir Putin is allegedly ready to back down from his previous demands for control over four Ukrainian regions, including Kherson.
