Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff will visit Russia again this week to continue talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt said this, noting that US President Donald Trump is closely monitoring the progress of negotiations to end Russia's war against Ukraine.

«Special Envoy Steve Witkoff will be travelling to Russia again this week to continue talks with Vladimir Putin,» said Caroline Levitt.

She did not specify when the visit would take place.

The spokeswoman also commented on the US Secretary of State's previous statements about the possibility of withdrawing from the talks in the event of negative developments, stressing that Trump is committed to peace.

«He (Trump, — note) wants this war to end. He wants to stop the killing on both sides. And this is not the first time he has said this. The president is disappointed with the actions of both sides, but at the same time believes that peace is possible,» said Caroline Levitt.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a meeting in London to discuss the conditions for an unconditional ceasefire.

As a reminder, Russian President Vladimir Putin is allegedly ready to back down from his previous demands for control over four Ukrainian regions, including Kherson.
