US President Donald Trump has said that Washington wants to stop the war between Russia and Ukraine, as neither of them «has the cards» for peace talks.
Hesaidto journalists on board Air Force One on his way back to Washington.
According to Donald Trump, the United States is trying to do everything possible to make Ukraine «serious about» the negotiations. However, according to the US president», Russia also has no advantage to end the war.
«You know, I said that they (Ukraine, — note) have no cards. In fact, no one has any maps. Russia has no cards... What you have to do is make a deal. You have to stop the killing. This is a senseless war, and we are going to stop it», said Donald Trump.
He also expressed hope for a «good result» from the talks between the American and Ukrainian delegations in Saudi Arabia.
«We want them (Ukrainians, — note) to seek peace right now to the extent that they should. I don't think they have done that right now. Over the next two or three days, it will become clear,» the US president added, commenting on the condition for signing the minerals agreement.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that Ukraine «may not survive in any case», even if it receives US aid.
