Mykyta Poturaiev, chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy and a member of the «Servant of the People» party, said that the Verkhovna Rada had not voted for any appeal to the United States.

He wrote about this on his Facebook page.

«Please pay attention to the media: The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has NOT addressed anyone in Washington or anywhere in the United States. Please do not mislead the public», wrote Nikita Poturaiev.

Earlier it was reported that members of the Presidium of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, as well as leaders of parliamentary factions and groups, officially appealed to US President Donald Trump, the Congress and the American people, expressing gratitude for their support for Ukraine's independence and sovereignty. This appeal was published yesterday, 3 March, in English on the official website of the parliament.

«Ukraine deeply respects the aspirations of the great American people toward the comprehensive restoration of the United States’ global leadership. At the same time, we firmly believe that the leadership of the United States on the international stage is inseparably linked to the defense of the ideals of freedom and democracy, adherence to international agreements, and reliability in relations with allies and friends.», the statement reads.

As a reminder, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the meeting at the White House did not go as planned, but «it was time to fix everything».
