President Donald Trump has tasked retired Lieutenant General Keith Kellogg with ending the war in Ukraine in one hundred days. Almost no one believes he can do it

Keith Kellogg is playing a key role in the peace talks, The Wall Street Journal reports.

Sources say that he has a plan to end the war, but the negotiation process will be under the strict control of Donald Trump.

«Making a deal with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin will be more difficult than Trump imagined during the election campaign when he said he would end the conflict before taking office», the newspaper reports.

John Bolton, Trump's former White House national security adviser, said he heard Donald Trump praise Keith Kellogg because he «never speaks his mind unless I ask him to».

Keith Kellogg's military experience may be important to Donald Trump as he also thinks about whether to continue to provide aid to Ukraine. But Keith Kellogg has never worked as a diplomat, and is unlikely to be involved in real negotiations with Russia.

Ukraine hopes that US President Donald Trump will be able to end the war with Russia. However, Russian President Vladimir Putin is unlikely to agree to end the war, according to Kurt Volker, the US State Department's former special envoy for Ukraine.

As you know, after his inauguration, US President Donald Trump said that Volodymyr Zelenskyy was ready for a deal to end the war.

After that, President Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is committed to ending the war this year, but that the main priority remains achieving a just and lasting peace.
