New Zealand announced a new aid package for Ukraine worth almost $30 million

The next aid package from New Zealand includes funds for the purchase of weapons and ammunition, support for Ukrainian refugees.

This is stated in the press service of the New Zealand government.

«This war led to terrible human casualties, caused enormous suffering and significantly affected regional and global stability. That is why New Zealand remains committed to supporting Ukraine. This support of $25.9 million will increase the total amount of aid pledged by New Zealand over the past two years to more than $100 million,» said New Zealand's Minister of Foreign Affairs Winston Peters.

In her turn, New Zealand's Defense Minister Judith Collins noted that over the past two years, military countries have been in Europe and Great Britain, working with like-minded partners from partner countries to support Ukraine, and this support will continue.

«The Government is pleased to announce that the meaningful, visible and credible deployment of qualified NZDF personnel in support of Ukraine will be extended until June 2025. Up to 97 NZDF servicemen will continue to train Ukrainian soldiers, as well as provide intelligence, communications and logistical support,» she added.

In addition, today's package of events also includes:

  • 6.5 million dollars to the International Fund of Ukraine, administered by Great Britain, for the purchase of weapons and ammunition for Ukraine;
  • $7 million in humanitarian aid to support Ukrainians affected by the war, including those displaced to neighboring countries;
  • 3 million US dollars to the World Bank's Trust Fund for assistance, recovery, reconstruction and reforms in Ukraine.

We will remind you that Germany has announced a new aid package worth 1.1 billion euros for Ukraine. It will include howitzers, anti-aircraft guns and missiles for air defense systems.

Sweden also announced the 15th package of military aid for Ukraine for 7.1 billion Swedish crowns (630 million euros). The package, in particular, included combat boats of the Stridsbåt 90 class.
