In Mykolaiv, they are going to restore the historical building of Lyceum No. 2 (the former gymnasium) by the end of 2024. The works are estimated at 153 million 251 thousand hryvnias.

We are talking about the architectural monument of local importance «City Girls' School» of the second half of the 19th century on Admiralska Street, writes NikVesti.

According to the data of the public procurement system ProZorro, the tender for the restoration of the building was ordered by the Department of Town Planning, Architecture, Capital Construction and Support of Development Projects of Mykolaiv Oblast. The gymnasium building will be restored with the funds of the state subvention for the implementation of projects to eliminate the consequences of the war.

The contractor will have until December 31, 2024 to complete the restoration work of the building, in particular, to equip shelters and perform restorative works after shelling, explained in a comment to NikVesti in Mykolayiv RMA.

Currently, the process of submitting offers from future bidders is ongoing, the winner will be chosen after November 18.

Previously, the Department of Town Planning, Architecture, Capital Construction and Support of Development Projects of the Mykolayiv Oblast commissioned a restoration project for the historical building of Lyceum No. 2 (former gymnasium).

Even before the full-scale invasion, the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevich, reported that they plan to carry out current repairs in gymnasium No. 2 by the end of 2021, and capital works will be postponed for the time being. He recalled that the examination showed that the gymnasium building, which was considered to be in a state of emergency, is not. Only some roof overlaps were recognized as emergency.

We will remind you that on March 24, 2021, the premises at 24 Admiralska Street in Mykolaiv, where the educational institution — gymnasium No. 2 is located, was declared emergency. At the same time, a petition was created on the website of the city council to preserve Gymnasium No. 2 in a viable condition, which was supported by more than a thousand citizens.

Two days later, the head of the Mykolaiv regional state administration, Vitalii Kim, said that the regional government is ready to cooperate with the city government regarding the restoration of gymnasium No. 2.

In May, the head of the Mykolaiv City Council's capital construction department, Oleksandr Pozdniakov, reported that two companies had responded to a commercial proposal regarding the accident study of gymnasium No. 2. When it turned out that only part of the roof was damaged, and there was no threat to the educational process, the library and museum were «relocated» from the wing of the gymnasium.
