₴12 billion is needed for the reconstruction of the damaged power grids of the Mykolaiv Oblast, — oblenerho

According to preliminary data, restoration of electric networks of the Mykolaiv region damaged by shelling will cost 12 billion hryvnias.

This is stated in the article «Blackout-2023: is the energy system of the Mykolaiv Oblast ready for possible new attacks of the Russian Federation» by NikVesti.

During the first year of the full-scale invasion, the Russians struck Ukraine's energy facilities 255 times, the Prosecutor General's Office reported. As a result, as of today, 1,099 objects of Mykolaivoblenergo's critical infrastructure have been damaged, the company reported in response to an information request from NikVesti.

As of today, Mykolaivoblenerho has restored almost all of the damaged objects to the level of operational efficiency, the company explained. Sometimes, they added, these objects had to be restored from improvised materials and means. However, even under such conditions, it was possible to restore electricity supply to the homes of residents of Mykolaiv Oblast.

According to preliminary estimates, 12 billion hryvnias are needed for the full repair of electricity networks damaged during the war, Mykolayivoblenerho reported. After all, the Russians repeatedly fired at the same electrical substations and power transmission lines that were located in the zones of active hostilities.

— The question is not even the number of damaged lines or the amount of equipment, but really the scale. There are lines whose scale of damage is insignificant, and there are power lines in the combat zone near Mykolaiv or in the de-occupied Sniguriv region - there the level of destruction is 80%, they are actually not there. What we restored there is a conditional restoration so that there will be light in the houses, — explained Vadym Danylkiv, the acting director of Mykolayivoblenerho, in an interview with NikVesti.

We remind you that in Ukraine there is currently enough electricity produced by power plants in the country to meet the needs of citizens. Rumors in social networks about the alleged use of blackout schedules are false.

At the same time, Mykolayivoblenerho updated the schedules of possible power outages in the region this winter and added three sub-queues to each of the three main queues.

Vadym Danylkiv, the acting director of Mykolayivoblenerho, said that the company had prepared for possible Russian attacks, so it is not worth expecting a total blackout for the residents of the region. However, the situation may be somewhat more difficult in Ochakiv and Kutsurub community.
