In Zaporizhzhia, law enforcement officers detained a suspect of preparing to blow up the cars of local TRC (Territorial recruitment center, — note) employees.

This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, the suspect turned out to be a security guard of the local energy company. It is also indicated that the man daily monitored parking lots near military checkpoints to identify potential targets.

«According to the instructions of the FSS, the person involved was supposed to identify such vehicles, and then install improvised remote-controlled explosive devices under them,» the report says.

The SSU noted that the man was detained «when he was conducting reconnaissance near the facility of the Defense Forces.»

«In addition, the SSU established that the suspect was also spying on transformer substations in Zaporozhye. According to the investigation, the agent turned out to be a security guard of the local energy company, who was remotely recruited by the FSB in April of this year,» the SSU said.

Investigators of the Security Service informed the detainee of suspicion of treason committed under martial law. He faces life imprisonment.

We will remind that in March of this year, the Security Service of Ukraine detained a Russian agent who planned to commit a terrorist act by blowing up the local post office in Zaporizhzhia. He faces life imprisonment.
