On the morning of Sunday, February 18, the Russian occupiers committed another war crime, shooting two Ukrainian prisoners of war.

This was reported in the press service of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group of troops.

The published (video 18+) shows how the Russian occupier, while in a trench, shoots two Ukrainian soldiers who are lying down and not resisting.

The event took place in the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group of troops, which is responsible for the eastern section of the battle line (Kharkiv, Izium, Lyman, Lysychansk, Kurakhove, Kupiansk, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Vuhledar directions).

«The Russians have once again shown their attitude to IHL by shooting 2 Ukrainian prisoners of war,» says the message, which is accompanied by footage taken by a reconnaissance drone.

Previously, on March 6, 2023, activists Serhii Sternenko and Ihor Lachenkov published on Twitter a video of the Russians shooting a captured Ukrainian soldier. The security service opened a criminal case over the shooting of a Ukrainian prisoner of war. She was opened under Article 438, Part 2 of the Criminal Code — violation of the laws and customs of war.
