In Odesa, the Security Service of Ukraine detained two men who are suspected of preparing a missile attack on the deployment locations of the Defense Forces.

According to the special service, Russian troops were planning an attack on the command headquarters of the Armed Forces in the southern direction.

To collect intelligence, the enemy engaged «agents» who walked the streets of Odessa and secretly recorded potential «targets». The men also asked local residents for information about the Ukrainian military.

«For the execution of a hostile task, the FSS engaged two of its agents — citizens of one of the countries of the South Caucasus, who lived in Odesa. On the instructions of the Russian special service, these individuals scouted the locations of Ukrainian troops in order to record their coordinates on Google maps. After establishing the geolocations of the «required» objects, the agents collected the maximum amount of information about the personnel, military equipment and work features available there,» the report says.

The suspects also created a public organization in the city, which acted under the guise of providing assistance for the legalization of foreign citizens in Ukraine.

«At the same time, they actually tried to recruit foreigners to their own network of informants within the walls of the PO,» the SSU added.

Law enforcement officers detained the men when they were investigating near one of the facilities. Investigators of the Security Service notified both defendants of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information about the location of the Armed Forces, committed under martial law). They are currently in custody. The suspects face up to 12 years in prison.

It will be recalled that the Security Service of Ukraine detained an employee of a kindergarten in Kharkiv, who was correcting Russian missile strikes on the city.
