Two residents of the Voznesensk district of the Mykolayiv region were informed about the suspected purchase, storage and sale of military supplies and firearms without the permission required by law.

The Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office reported this.

According to the investigation, the men, aged 34 and 56, «specialized» in the illegal manufacture, storage and sale of unregistered firearms and ammunition. They set up underground workshops at their place of residence.

«The suspects searched for their customers through a website that specializes in the sale of weapons and ammunition through an auction, and shipped the goods to customers throughout the territory of Ukraine by mail,» the report says.

During searches of the places of residence of the persons involved, more than a thousand cartridges of various calibers were seized; accessories for the production of cartridges, in particular, two machines for equipping rifled cartridges, a press for jamming cartridges, as well as components for the manufacture of cartridges (capsules, cartridges, bullets, gunpowder), electronic scales (for weighing gunpowder), an AK-74 assault rifle, a grenade F-1 and mobile phones.

Earlier in Mykolaiv, the police detained two local residents who are suspected of selling weapons and ammunition.
