«The road to Odesa is just awful. Pothole after pothole. Be very careful. People are losing their wheels. Be sure to have a spare tyre, or better yet, two,» wrote a TikTok user.
We would like to add that in the comments under the video, people also complain about the condition of the road and share their experiences.
«We recently drove there. It's horrible. The worst road,» writes TikTok user Mariana Borodulia.
«The roads in Mykolaiv are always like this. There is no quality,» says another TikTok user, Alla.
«It's always been like this after a snowy, frosty winter. It's no surprise, we're just not used to snowy winters anymore,» says TikTok user Leonid.

In August 2020, the head of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction, David Arakhamiia, promised that the section of the M-14 motorway from Mykolaiv to Odesa would be expanded to four lanes. At the time, he stated that funding for the project would be provided for in the state budget for 2021.
He noted that the expansion of the motorway would reduce the number of accidents on the Mykolaiv-Odesa section, which has a reputation as a «death road».
In September 2021, the heads of the Mykolaiv, Odesa and Kherson regional state administrations appealed to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy with a request to expand the M-14 motorway to four lanes.
In December 2021, responding to questions from journalists, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, Vitalii Kim, said that he wanted to be remembered by the region's residents for the infrastructure projects he had implemented, such as the four-lane motorway to Odesa.
In December 2024, at a briefing, Vitalii Kim announced that the project to build a new four-lane motorway connecting Mykolaiv and Odesa had been suspended. According to him, the implementation of this and other large projects in the region had been put on hold due to a lack of funding and the current security situation.
In February 2025, it became known that the Mykolaiv region was in talks with a South Korean company regarding the construction of a four-lane motorway connecting Mykolaiv and Odesa.
