In Mykolaiv, there are plans to install automatic generators in buildings that have no heating due to power outages.

In a comment to NikVesti, the first deputy mayor of Mykolaiv, Vitalii Lukov, said that they are working on this as part of preparations for the next heating season.

«Currently, together with the state, we are able to provide the city with fuel for all strategic facilities. Residents have water, and most homes have heat. At the same time, some homes do not have heat due to problems with electricity, where it is currently technologically impossible to provide it. However, we are already working on this as part of our preparations for the next heating season. So that it can be done there too,» said Vitalii Lukov.

According to him, automatic generators are needed because there are not enough human resources to constantly be on duty in every building.

«There must be automatic generators that turn on by themselves, because there are not enough people to constantly put someone on duty in every building. Moreover, this person on duty must work around the clock. You can see that there are now more energy resources than there are. Therefore, someone has to be on duty constantly. What's more, one person cannot work day after day; at least three people are needed to ensure that someone is always on duty. That means a huge amount of human resources,» concluded Vitalii Lukov.

As a reminder, scheduled power outages are in effect every day in Mykolaiv and the surrounding region. Hourly schedules are applied throughout the day — from 00:00 to 23:59 — and the duration of power outages sometimes reaches up to 20 hours per day.

Mykolaiv residents complain about the lack of heating in a building on Soborna Street due to power outages: what is known

In Mykolaiv, residents of a high-rise building on Soborna Street, 9 complain that due to prolonged power outages, there is virtually no heating in the building. According to them, despite this, they receive bills as if for a full service.

As Olena Ustymenko wrote in the Contact Centre group at the Mykolaiv City Council, the building does not have a central gas supply and runs on electricity, so during prolonged power outages, the heating system does not function properly and the rooms do not have time to warm up.

She added that despite these problems, residents receive bills for the full cost of heating, without taking into account the actual lack of heat.

The resident also noted that in other cities, similar problems with buildings that depend on electricity are solved with the help of backup power supplies, while in Mykolaiv, residents do not see any help from the city authorities.
