Ukraine calls an urgent UN Security Council meeting after an «Oreshnik» strike in Lviv region

Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that Ukraine is initiating an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council due to the strike of a Russian Oreshnik missile on the Lviv region.

He wrote about this on social media platform X.

According to the minister, against the backdrop of this attack, Ukraine will also initiate a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council and hold consultations with partners in the European Union, the Council of Europe and the OSCE. Andrii Sybiha stressed that the strike near the EU and NATO border poses a serious threat to the security of all of Europe and is a test for the North Atlantic Alliance.

He also stressed that Russia's attempts to justify the attack with a fictitious «attack on Putin's residence» are unfounded.
