In Mykolaiv, the city budget received about 4 million hryvnias for illegal parking.

This was reported by Iryna Shcherbakova, head of the city council's accounting department, during a joint meeting of the standing committees on budget and law, NikVesti reports.

«As for fines for parking in places not designated for this purpose: as of mid-December, the amount of such revenues for 2025 is about four million hryvnias,» said Iryna Shcherbakova.

In addition, the city budget pays for the use of software that automatically generates a data package for calculating fines. For almost seven months, 1.5 million hryvnias has been spent on this.

«For each action that an inspector performs when issuing a fine, we pay for the use of the software. It covers a number of functions: creating a database of all fines, operating a user interface for inspectors, processing payments, sending notifications about fines and other processes. The system automatically generates a full package of data for calculating fines, after which the parking inspectorate sends them to violators. We set the amount at one and a half million hryvnias, but it directly depends on the number of fines issued. At the end of the year, this amount may be less if there are fewer fines. In fact, we pay for each individual action — one action has a fixed cost,» explained Andrii Volkov, manager of the executive committee's affairs.

What about parking in Mykolaiv?

As you know, on 11 June 2025, eight paid car parking locations started operating in the centre of Mykolaiv.

Over the summer of 2025, the sites brought 111.4 thousand hryvnias in revenue to the municipal enterprise «Timeset», which will be transferred to the city budget after the mandatory payments are made.

At the same time, the number of free parking spaces in the centre of Mykolaiv has decreased. The municipal specialised installation and maintenance company has installed bollards (protective posts) on the sidewalks and so-called «pockets», so drivers can no longer leave their cars there.

Earlier, NikVesti wrote about how they will work and who will control payment.
