Mykolaiv agrarians received over ₴400 million of state support in 2025

In 2025, farmers in Mykolaiv region received more than 400 million hryvnias in state support.

«This year, the main support was provided through the State Agrarian Register. Applications were received from farms across the region for financial assistance at the rate of 4,000 hryvnias per hectare. The main criteria for participation in the programme were up to 120 hectares of agricultural land under cultivation. The total amount of support in this area was 194.6 million hryvnias. In addition, 16.7 million hryvnias was allocated to farms that own 3 to 100 cows,» he said.

According to him, there was also a separate support programme for the region's frontline territories:

«Financial assistance was provided for 17 frontline communities at the rate of 1,000 hryvnias per hectare of crops. Only individual entrepreneurs and legal entities could participate in the programme, and there were no restrictions on the area. Based on the results of processing the submitted materials, 570 applications totalling 210 million hryvnias were approved».

In Mykolaiv region, farmers lost a significant portion of their crops due to spring frosts and prolonged summer drought. Sunflower and corn suffered the most, with yields in some fields decreasing several times compared to previous years.

According to Volodymyr Afanasiev, a specialist at the Department of Agricultural Development of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, 1.3 million hectares of crops were sown for the 2025 harvest, of which approximately 100,000 hectares were lost and another 350,000 hectares were severely damaged.

In total, the region produced two million tonnes of grain in 2025, 170,000 tonnes less than last year. Sunflower production decreased by half a million tonnes to around 250,000 tonnes, while the harvest of vegetables and potatoes remained stable at 500,000 and 150,000 tonnes respectively.
