In the frontline Kherson, in the Korabel neighbourhood, almost all residential infrastructure has been destroyed due to constant Russian shelling.
This was reported by Deputy Mayor of Kherson Nataliia Chornenka, according to «MOST».
According to her, all 54 high-rise buildings in the neighbourhood are 100% damaged, and 18 more buildings have damaged roofs. In total, about 4,200 windows were smashed as a result of the attacks.
«The enemy is using various types of drones and artillery in the Korabel neighbourhood, and two bombs were recently dropped. All 54 multi-storey buildings in the neighbourhood are 100% damaged. 18 buildings have seriously damaged roofs. About 4,200 windows were smashed by enemy weapons. This neighbourhood also includes the neighbourhoods of «Hydropark», «Naftogavan» — this is a private development. 62 private houses were completely destroyed, another 890 were damaged», said Nataliia Chornenka.
As a reminder, the Ostrovsky Bridge connecting the Korabel neighbourhood with other districts of Kherson was damaged by Russian shelling. Traffic is still possible, but it is difficult.
Earlier it was reported that Russian troops are trying to isolate the Korabel neighbourhood from the rest of Kherson. To do this, they are shelling the bridge over the Kosheva River, which connects the island part of the city with the mainland.
The journalists also showed how a large-scale evacuation of local residents is underway, despite constant shelling and drone attacks. Currently, there is no gas supply in the area, but there is electricity and water.
All children have already been evacuated from the Korabel neighbourhood. Currently, more than 220 adults remain in the neighbourhood.
