Night shelling of Mukachevo: enterprise damaged, there are victims

On the night of 21 August, Russian troops struck Mukachevo, hitting the territory of a local business. Rescue services and an operational headquarters are working at the scene.

This was reported by the Mukachevo City Council and the head of the Transcarpathian Regional Military Administration Myroslav Biletskyi.

According to preliminary data, ten victims were taken to the hospital, while two more came to the hospital on their own. Five of them remain in hospital, and one patient was transferred to the regional hospital. The condition of all the victims is assessed as stable.

The strike destroyed warehouses and started a fire at the facility. Rescuers continue to extinguish the fire.

Local authorities are asking residents to keep windows tightly closed and not to go outside unless necessary.

«Due to the large-scale fire that started after a missile strike on the company in Mukachevo, there is significant smoke in the air. Combustion products can be harmful to health. I ask all residents to close their windows and doors in the direction of the smoke spread and refrain from going outside unless absolutely necessary. Particular attention should be paid to children, the elderly and those with chronic respiratory diseases. Rescue services are working on the spot, the situation is under control», the Transcarpathian Regional Military Administration said.
