Fire in Mykolaiv region burns down 45 hectares of forest and dead wood

Yesterday, 28 July, a fire broke out near the village of Varyushyne in the Mykolaiv region, where coniferous flooring, shrubs and dry grass caught fire. Due to strong winds, the fire quickly spread to the residential sector and, on the other hand, to a forest tract.
This was reported by the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv region.
As of the morning of 29 July, the fire was extinguished. The total area of the burned area is about 45 hectares, including 25 hectares of forest flooring and 20 hectares of dry grass in the open. The fire also damaged two residential buildings.
Rescuers from the State Emergency Service, the local fire department of the village of Pokrovka, as well as forestry workers and equipment were involved in the firefighting operations. A total of 106 firefighters and 20 pieces of equipment from the SES were employed, and 10 people and 5 vehicles from the forestry were sent to extinguish the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
As a reminder, a massive fire broke out near the village of Variushyne in the Mykolaiv region on 28 July. The State Emergency Service reported that the fire engulfed the tract «Variushyne», which is part of the branch «Voznesensk Forestry» of the state enterprise «Mykolaiv Forestry».
