A drunken vandal damaged a banner in memory of fallen soldiers in the Mykolaiv region

In the village of Bilozirka, Pervomaisk community in Mykolaiv region, a drunken man damaged a memorial banner in honour of the fallen Ukrainian military and a monument to the heroes of World War II.

The incident was reported by the National Police.

It is noted that the appeal was received on 17 June from the village elder. At the scene, law enforcement officers found a torn banner and damage to the monument's facade. During the investigation, the suspect was identified as a 34-year-old local resident.

He was notified of suspicion under two articles: «hooliganism» and «intentional damage to cultural heritage». For these actions, the man faces up to three years in prison.

We would like to remind you that in one of Mykolaiv's districts, unknown persons painted dispensers at a free drinking water point.
