The representative of Andrii Danylko commented on the scandal that arose after the artist's performance on 13 June at a concert at the Osocor Residence in Kyiv, where songs were performed in Russian.

In a commentary to «Ukrainska Pravda», Danylko's team noted that during Verka Serduchka's concert, songs were performed in Ukrainian, English, as well as «several old songs in the original». It is noted that Serduchka did not address the audience in Russian.

«Verka Serdyuchka speaks her local dialect, the Poltava surzhyk (mix of Ukrainian and Russian languages, — note), which has been an integral part of her image from day one. The position of Andriy Danylko, who lives and works in Ukraine, has been clear since the first days of the war and cannot be questioned. He has been banned from entering Russia for 50 years and actively supports the Ukrainian Armed Forces and our guys who have been wounded at the front», said Danylko's PR director.

The artist's representative also denied violating the language law, referring to Law No. 2310-IX of 19.06.2023, which «does not prohibit the performance of copyright songs in Russian by citizens of Ukraine who do not have the citizenship of the aggressor state and are not subject to other restrictions».

«The position of Andrii Danylko, who lives and works in Ukraine, has been clear since the first days of the war and cannot be questioned. He has been banned from entering Russia for 50 years and actively supports the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as our guys who were wounded at the front», the performer added.

We would like to remind you that a complaint was filed with the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language against Verka Serduchka's concert in Kyiv because of the songs in Russian. The complaint was filed by Viktor Diachenko, a TV presenter from Mykolaiv. The reason for the appeal was the use of the Russian language during the programme, as well as the performance of Russian-language songs.

Later, Taras Kremin, the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language, appealed to the National Police of Ukraine over the violation of the language law.
