As of the morning of 26 May, two people were killed and six others were injured in the Russian kamikaze drone attack on Mykolaiv on the night of 25 May.
Three of them were treated on the spot or on an outpatient basis. Three of the hospitalised remain in stable serious condition, the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reported.
In addition, on the evening of 25 May, at 20:26, an FPV drone attacked the Kutsurub community in Mykolaiv district. No people were injured. On the night of 26 May, Russians fired twice with FPV drones at the waters of the Ochakiv community.
Strike on Mykolaiv on 25 May
As you know, on Saturday night, 25 May, the Russian army launched dozens of drones at Mykolaiv. The first shelling in the city was heard around 00:50. The city authorities reported that the city was under attack by kamikaze drones.
A five-storey building in Zavodskyi district of Mykolaiv was hit. People were trapped under the rubble. Rescuers managed to unblock the body of one of the residents at 6am. The victim was a 77-year-old man. In addition, 5 other people were injured, including a teenager. Mykolaiv rescuers managed to pull a girl out of the rubble.
Authorities also reported that the night attack on Mykolaiv damaged infrastructure, office buildings and private homes. Power lines were damaged in different parts of the city. Two floors of an apartment building were destroyed, and the debris hit a nearby multi-storey building.
In addition, one of the kindergartens was damaged by a Russian drone strike. The building's windows were smashed and the roof was damaged.
Law enforcers have already opened a criminal investigation into the nighttime shelling of Mykolaiv on the grounds of war crimes (Article 438(2) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim, noted that the attack on 25 May was the most massive in recent years.
Later, rescuers removed the body of a dead woman from the rubble. As of the evening of 25 May, two people were reported dead and five wounded.
