Between 1 and 24 April, at least 151 civilians were killed and 697 others were injured in Russian attacks in Ukraine.
These data were released by the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine.
It is noted that this is 46% more than in the same period last year. In April, the Russians began actively attacking densely populated cities with missiles, and the number of civilian casualties increased.
«The scenes of destruction and human suffering we witnessed in Kyiv on 24 April morning demonstrate a disturbing trend: it is the civilian population that is bearing the brunt of the increasingly intense and frequent attacks,» said Danielle Belle, Chief Monitor of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine.
In particular, an increase in the number of civilian deaths and injuries was recorded in the frontline areas of Kherson, Donetsk, Sumy and Kharkiv regions as a result of short-range drone strikes.
As a reminder, on 24 April, Russians attacked the Kutsurub community with FPV drones six times. As a result of one of the strikes on the village of Dniprovske, a 72-year-old woman was injured. She was taken to hospital, her condition is satisfactory.
