US President Donald Trump has extended the ban on Russian vessels entering US ports for another year.
According to a White House document, the decree prohibits all vessels with ties to Russia from docking and navigating in US ports.
The document also notes that after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in April 2022, the United States declared a state of emergency in response to Moscow's actions that violate international norms.
«The policies and actions of the government of the Russian Federation continue to pose a threat that constitutes grounds for declaring a state of emergency due to a violation or threatened violation of international relations of the United States,» the decree says.
As a reminder, a group of 50 senators from the US Republican and Democratic parties has proposed a bill that would impose sanctions on Russia if it refuses to negotiate with Ukraine or attempts to undermine its sovereignty after a peace agreement is concluded.
