Russian troops used more than 700 FPV drones in the southern direction and about 3,500 along the entire frontline over the past day. Russia is attacking the coastal settlements of Kherson region the most: they are shelling buildings, vehicles and civilians.
This was reported on 15 April by Vladyslav Voloshyn, a spokesman for the Southern Defence Forces, on «Suspilne. Studio».
According to him, in the Kherson direction, Russians twice tried to force the Dnipro River and land in the core zone.
«As for the shelling, the Kherson direction is one of the most dangerous. It seems that the enemy wants to create a dead zone along the Dnipro River, as it strikes at civilian objects, buildings, public transport and ordinary local residents. The pilots are literally hunting for people,» said Voloshyn.
He also noted that during the bad weather, the enemy tried to take advantage of the reduced effectiveness of the drones and intensified their assault operations. However, as the weather improves, the number of FPV drones being used is increasing significantly.
«Taking advantage of the fact that it was difficult to use drones to kill, they attempted to force several water obstacles and increased the number of assault operations in the Kherson sector. In general, when the weather improves, when there is good visibility, the enemy's use of FPV drones increases,» said the Defence Forces spokesman.
In addition to drones, Russia continues to actively use artillery and aircraft. In particular, Russian troops are striking settlements upstream of Kherson along the Dnipro River with unguided aerial missiles.
As a reminder, yesterday, 14 April, Russian troops shelled settlements in the Kherson region with artillery and carried out air strikes. Eight civilians were injured as a result of the attacks, including one child.
