Shelling of Odesa on 19 February caused more than ₴5 million in damage: a polyclinic and a kindergarten were damaged

As a result of the Russian attack on Odesa on 19 February, environmental damage totalled more than 5 million hryvnias.

This was reported by the State Ecological Inspectorate of the South-Western District.

It is noted that a substation, a children's clinic, a kindergarten and an apartment building were damaged. State environmental inspectors inspected the impact sites and recorded the consequences and damage.

«It was found that the land was contaminated with construction waste and environmental damage amounting to more than 5 million hryvnias was caused», the statement said.

The information was transferred to the Operational Headquarters of the State Ecological Inspectorate of Ukraine to create a unified register of environmental damage caused by armed aggression.

Earlier it was reported that the shelling of Odesa on 19 February caused a fire in the Peresypskyi district of the city. Experts estimated the damage to the environment at 242,000 hryvnias.

As a reminder, as a result of the shelling of Odesa on 19 February, more than 80,000 subscribers were left without electricity and heat. Fifty children from the destroyed kindergarten were redirected to other pre-schools.
