Attempted assassination attempt on First Deputy Minister of Health: two suspects detained

The weapons found on the suspects. Photo: SBULaw enforcement officers have detained a man and a woman on suspicion of preparing the murder of the First Deputy Minister of Health.
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine and the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
It should be noted that the position of First Deputy Minister of Health is held by Serhii Dubrov.
According to the investigation, the suspects are two residents of Kyiv region — a man and a woman. They followed the official and studied his routes and daily routine.
The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office said that in October 2024, a woman died of injuries after a car accident in one of the capital's hospitals. At the time, Serhii Dubrov, who is an anaesthetist, was on duty at the medical institution. The woman's friends believed that he was to blame for her death, so they decided to kill him.
The suspects developed a detailed murder plan. For several months, they followed Serhii Dubrov's movements, rented an apartment in the residential complex where he lived. They purchased a weapon with which they planned to shoot the doctor. However, their intentions were thwarted by law enforcement.

A detained man. Photo: SSUThey were served with a notice of suspicion of preparing a premeditated murder (Article 14, paragraph 1, Article 115, paragraph 2, Article 12 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). They could face up to 15 years in prison or life imprisonment for this.
Investigators are asking the court to impose on the suspects a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention without bail.
As a reminder, the Central Court of Mykolaiv held a regular hearing in the case of the murder on Architect Starov Street. The defence filed a motion to declare inadmissible two reports from the search site, which were signed by an investigator who did not draw them up.
