This was announced by the head of the RMA, Oleksandr Prokudin, in the morning briefing on December 20.

He noted that the Defense Forces immediately managed to identify and destroy the occupiers.

The head of the RMA emphasized that the situation on the right bank remains tense. During the night alone, the Russians shelled residential areas, critical and social infrastructure, resulting in 7 injuries.

«The occupiers are attacking residential areas, critical and social infrastructure. Residential buildings have been hit, two medical facilities have been destroyed. Unfortunately, there are injuries and one death. Doctors, rescuers, law enforcement officers and municipal services are working on the scene. We are awake with you. Difficult days are ahead. Recall, in early December, the publication «RBK-Ukraine» reported that the Russian military may soon carry out another operation — with the aim of attacking Kherson by crossing the Dnieper, since all bridges in the direction of this city have been destroyed or damaged.

Two sources of the publication claim that the occupiers are transporting equipment for building pontoon crossings and training troops to areas located on the left bank of the Dnieper.

Already on December 4, the head of the Kherson regional military administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, confirmed that Russian troops were probably planning an offensive on Kherson and had assembled 300 boats to cross the Dnieper. In addition, the occupiers are actively using drones, having carried out over 9,500 attacks since July.

Ukrainian Volunteer Army spokesman Serhii Bratchuk said Russian troops are trying to seize river islands and approach the western shore of Kherson. They recently launched a large-scale attack on Kozatskyi Island northeast of the city, near Novaya Kakhovka.

It was also reported that the number of Russian military units on the occupied Kinburn Spit has increased in order to maintain defenses and prevent Ukrainian troops from crossing the Dnieper.

The head of the Mykolaiv Oblast Armed Forces, Vitalii Kim, commenting on information about a possible offensive of Russian troops on the right bank of the Dnieper, assured that the Ukrainian military was ready for such a development of events a few months ago.
