«Captivity kills»: a rally in support of prisoners of war and missing persons took place in Mykolaiv

On Sunday, November 3, in Mykolaiv, local residents joined the weekly action in support of captured soldiers and missing persons.

Relatives of prisoners of war, friends and caring residents of the city stood with posters, flags of various brigades and photos of captured or missing Ukrainian soldiers, the correspondent NikVesti reports.

Event participant Svitlana said that she attends similar events every Sunday because her nephew went missing nine months later.

«We don't know if he is currently in captivity because he went missing 9 months later. They called us and said that he went to the position and did not return,» said the woman.

Olena came to the rally because she wants to support the military who fought for the lives of Ukrainians.

«They are all Ukrainians, they all fought for us, for my future and my children. Therefore, I believe that I should go to rallies, shout about our prisoners of war and do everything possible to return them,» Olena added.

Svitlana, a resident of the city, has a son and husband in captivity for more than two years, and she has not been able to contact them.

«We couldn't contact them in any way, but the man managed to call us about two years ago. Nothing is currently known about the son, we only know that he is in captivity, but there is no connection with him. We constantly go to such events to attract attention and remind the society that the war continues,» said Svitlana.

We will remind, on October 26 in Mykolaiv, about 100 people and 50 cars took part in a rally in support of prisoners of war and missing servicemen.
