The Polish police opened proceedings because of the grain spilled by Polish farmers from Ukrainian grain trucks that were transiting to Lithuania.

This was announced by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland, Vasyl Zvarych.

«The Embassy and Consulate General of Ukraine in Lublin immediately appealed to the Polish police with the demand to open a case on the fact of this shameful crime,» he wrote.

Vasyl Zvarych believes that such methods of protesters should not be tolerated in a European civilized country.

«Therefore, we demand that the culprits be found and brought to justice. The Polish authorities should react decisively in the legal field to this shameful and offensive crime for Ukrainians and the majority of Poles and not allow similar barbaric actions in the future,» he added.

We will remind that on February 11, Polish farmers protesting near the Dorogusk checkpoint on the border with Ukraine scattered grain from three Ukrainian trucks on the road. Farmers began a blockade last week, demanding the repeal of the decision on Ukraine's duty-free trade with the EU.

It was also reported that on Monday, February 12, Polish carriers continued the blockade of two checkpoints on the border with Ukraine.
