In France, cases of antisemitism are reported against the background of the situation in Israel

In France, several cases of antisemitism were recorded against the backdrop of a large-scale escalation in Israel, which was attacked by the terrorist group Hamas.

As «European Truth» reports, this was announced by the Minister of the Interior of France, Gérald Darmanen.

— We saw about ten antisemitic acts: signs, phone calls with threats, people approaching, for example, religious places. In each case, the police took measures, there are detainees, — the minister noted.

According to him, the situation in Israel affects what is happening in France.

At the same time, Gérald Darmanen assured that currently «there is no obvious threat to our Jewish compatriots in France».

We remind, on the morning of October 7, Hamas massively hit southern and central Israel with rockets from the Gaza Strip. Militants broke through the border and entered several settlements in the south of Israel. More than 2,200 rockets were fired across the country.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the country is «in a state of war».

In response, ground and air forces of the Israel Defense Forces struck Hamas targets. In particular, the Israeli military hit two high-rise buildings in the Gaza Strip, where, according to their information, Palestinian militants were located.

In the evening of October 7, the Israeli army announced that it had regained control over most of the southern settlements.

It was also reported there that Lebanon struck their territory. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) attacked in response.

On Sunday, October 8, Palestinian media reported that the Israeli army killed Hamas leader Ayman Younis during a bombardment in the center of Gaza.

On October 9, the Israeli army announced that it had returned to control all areas on the border with the Gaza Strip. At the same time, it is not excluded that there are still Hamas militants on Israeli territory.
