Ukraine is discussing with Latvia the possibilities of rehabilitation of Ukrainian children returned from Russia to Ukraine.

Anatolii Kutsevol, the ambassador of Ukraine to Latvia, said this in an interview with Ukrinform.

«Now our key goal here is to focus on the possibility of psychological rehabilitation within the borders of Latvia. How can you help children who are ready to come to the Baltic countries. Of course, this is all incognito, because it is about personal data, the life of each individual child. I would like to return them to a normal life, so that they forget about their fears,» said Anatolii Kutsevol.

Kutsevol added that during the conference «Russia's war against children» he heard how children remembered something from the period of their stay in Russia, which they had not said before.

«It's hard to hear, but it's also an indicator of certain positive dynamics. In the process of rehabilitation and in safe conditions, they reveal details that have been hidden by various layers until now,» the ambassador noted.

According to him, the conference was also combined with the issue of rehabilitation of children.

«Because of this, they came in advance and took the appropriate course, for which I am very grateful to the Children's Hospital foundation, which does this on an ongoing basis,» added Anatolii Kutsevol.

Let us remind you that as of December 2023, approximately 4,000 adopted children ended up in the temporarily occupied territory or were deported to the territory of the Russian Federation.
