The German government has allocated an additional €3 billion in military aid to Ukraine in 2025 as part of a large-scale fiscal reform plan approved by the Bundestag.

This is stated in a statement by the German Ministry of Finance, Reuters reports.

After the approval of the fiscal reform, Finance Minister Jörg Kukis said that «requirements for authorising the allocation of funds will be met.

According to the document, 2.547 billion euros will be allocated for this year, and the total amount, including reimbursement from the European Peace Fund, will be 3 billion euros.

In addition, Germany plans to allocate another 8.252 billion euros for military assistance to Ukraine in the period from 2026 to 2029. The total support will exceed 11 billion euros.

The Bundestag's budget committee is expected to approve the funding on Friday, after the reform is passed in the Bundesrat.

As a reminder, Germany has announced a new aid package for Ukraine. It includes Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft systems, ammunition and drones.
