Ukraine sent 3850 tonnes of humanitarian flour to Syria, photo: agropolit.comUkraine has transferred another batch of humanitarian aid to Syria as part of the presidential initiative «Grain from Ukraine». This time, 3,850 tonnes of flour was sent to help provide bread to the local population.
This was announced by Vitalii Koval, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
«Ukraine continues to support the Syrian people. Another batch of humanitarian aid has arrived in Syria. Together with the UN World Food Programme, the flour will be distributed to local bakeries. In total, the Ukrainian flour will be enough to feed almost 60,000 people for six months», he said.
Earlier, Ukraine has already donated 500 tonnes of wheat flour for 33,250 Syrian families. At the same time, the Minister personally visited Syria to discuss further needs with the local authorities.
As a reminder, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy signed an agreement with China to expand Ukrainian agricultural exports to the Chinese market.
