Policemen evacuate mother and child from shelled territory of Kherson region

On 26 December, Kherson police together with Save Ukraine volunteers evacuated a family from Novodmytrivka, which is regularly shelled.

According to the National Police's communications department, a 28-year-old resident asked the volunteers to urgently evacuate her and her 7-year-old son.

Given the constant attacks by Russian UAVs on the road to the village, the operation was carried out at night. Police special forces took the family to an intermediate point in an armoured vehicle. There, the mother and child were handed over to juvenile police officers and volunteers, who took them to a safe place.

The family has now travelled to Lviv region, where they will receive temporary accommodation and necessary assistance.

Law enforcers urge residents of Kherson region, especially families with children, to evacuate from dangerous areas. For assistance in evacuating, citizens are advised to call 102, local police departments, authorities or volunteer organisations.

As previously reported, police and volunteers evacuated a family and 10 dogs from Komyshany, Kherson region, which is under constant shelling by Russian troops.
