The event brought together locals who came to spend the evening listening to live music and to support the development of the city’s cultural life.
This was reported by a correspondent for NikVesti.
The event was organised by Mykolaiv musician Volodymyr Alekseev. According to him, the main aim of such events is to boost the morale of the city’s residents and give them the chance to take their minds off their daily struggles, if only for a short while.
«These events keep the spirits of Mykolaiv’s residents up. When people are constantly working and under stress, it’s important for them to have a mental break. It was the military who inspired me. I thought that during the war, concerts weren’t needed, but the military said: «When will the concerts be? Because we’re getting tired, we want to clear our heads somewhere,» Volodymyr Alekseev told NikVesti.
This year, concerts at «*8 Prychal» are planned to take place almost every week. In addition, work is underway in Mykolaiv to develop a new venue on Namyv, where daily events of various formats will be held in the future.
The audience was treated to a performance by Viktor Romanchenko from Kherson, winner of the «X Factor» show, who became the only Ukrainian to have sung alongside the legendary band Queen. The band Radio Stars also took to the stage, performing songs live.
As Volodymyr Alekseev noted, the first concerts at ‘*8 Prichal’ were made possible solely through his own initiative and the support of concerned local residents.
«When I started in 2024, there was no support whatsoever. Whatever people donated was the extent of the help. Later, the mayor attended one of the events and asked how he could help. The following year, our projects were included in the city’s programme of events. Now part of the costs is covered by the city budget, and we cover the rest through donations for cultural development,» said Volodymyr Alekseev.
Visitors also emphasise the importance of such events for the city.
«It’s very important because it gives you the desire to live and dream. You can feel what life was like before the war. Events like this bring people together,» one of the guests told us.
She wished the organisers patience, strength, inspiration and the desire to continue holding such events for the people of Mykolaiv.
At the end of the evening, a pleasant surprise awaited the guests: exclusive T-shirts featuring Mykolaiv symbols were raffled off among everyone who had made a donation.
The third season of concerts at «*8 Prychal» has only just begun. Ahead lie new musical evenings, creative gatherings and cultural events designed to foster community spirit and create a space for relaxation, even in difficult times.
It was previously reported that, following a long hiatus, the charity festival «Jam Fest» took place at *8 Prychal in Mykolaiv. This year’s aim of the event was to raise 100,000 hryvnias for the Ukrainian military.
