Privatisation of municipal property

In 2021, Mykolaiv began leasing and selling municipal property through the ProZorro system. According to Deputy Mayor Vitalii Lukov, the city has about 3,500 properties, of which 1,200-1,300 can be leased. Auctions have significantly increased rental rates.

In the same year, a project to privatise 117 properties was published on the Mykolaiv City Council website. In 2024, the authorities again talked about selling property to fill the budget. In March 2025, plans to sell 114 properties were announced, but in April, deputies did not support the decision. However, in May , the list was approved.

As of January 2026, Mykolaiv had sold more than 104 million hryvnias worth of municipal property. About 86 million hryvnias have already been transferred to the community budget.
