Mykolaiv region needs more than ₴1.3 billion to repair roads used to transport schoolchildren

1 billion 319 million hryvnias is needed to repair the roads used to transport children to schools in the communities of Mykolaiv region.

This was announced by the chairman of the regional council, Anton Tabunschyk, during a session of the regional council, according to NikVesti.

According to him, the issue was raised at the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine, where an approximate amount has already been calculated.

«This network along the route of school buses looks like this: 1 billion 319 million hryvnias is needed. This has been recorded, and the relevant proposals for the next year's budget will be prepared,» said Anton Tabunschyk, chairman of the regional council.

Earlier, Vitalii Kim, the head of the Regional State Administration, said that due to poor roads, children in many communities spend more than an hour on the way to school and therefore cannot physically withstand such trips.
