Mykolaiv district administrations have spent more than half a billion hryvnias on road repairs and maintenance over the past three years

573.5 million hryvnias was spent on road repairs and maintenance in the Tsentralnyi, Zavodskyi, Ingulskyi and Korabelnyi districts of Mykolaiv in 2022-2024.

The Tsentralnyi District Administration has spent the most on road repairs over this time — 285.4 million hryvnias. However, the head of the administration, Oleksandr Bereza, notes that this is not enough for the number of roads that need repair.

The amount spent on road repairs in the Korabelnyi district was more than twice as much — 108.7 million hryvnias. The district administration noted that there are more than 200 private sector streets and alleys in the district, and most of them need asphalt pavement.

Over the past three years, the Zavodskyi district administration has spent 90.6 million hryvnias on road repairs. However, according to Viktor Dmytruk, the head of the district, 90% of the work requested by residents has to be postponed to the following years due to lack of funding.

The administration of Inhulskyi district spent slightly less on road repairs — 88.8 million hryvnias. The head of the district administration, Hanna Remennikova, says that they try to complete all repairs within a year so as not to postpone them.

As a reminder, the Administration of the Central District of Mykolaiv spent 1.7 million hryvnias to build a new road in the dead end of the coastal private sector, where 3 cottages in the Soliany neighbourhood are located.

Prior to that, the head of Mykolaiv's Central District Administration, Oleksandr Bereza, criticised the work of public utilities in the Polish city of Wroclaw, which are carrying out major repairs to several blocks.
