NEFCO to give Mykolaiv over €14 million for heat and solar energy

The Mykolaiv City Council has signed a grant agreement with the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) worth more than €14 million.

The document was signed on 10 July in Rome during a conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine, NikVesti reports.

It is a grant of more than €14 million for the implementation of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in the city.

The funds will be used in two key areas:

• 7.2 million euros for the installation of individual heating points (IHPs) in residential buildings. This will help regulate the heat supply in each building, reduce energy consumption and improve the comfort of residents.

• 7.2 million euros for the construction of three solar power plants with a capacity of 9.9 MW each. They will provide the city with clean energy and help reduce dependence on traditional sources.

The financing will be provided without the participation of the city budget or utility companies — the funds will go directly to the contractors.

As a reminder, the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) will provide Mykolaiv with €7.2 million in grant support for solar power plants.
