Four residential buildings destroyed by Russian shelling are being dismantled in Odesa.

The decision was made on Thursday, 15 May, at an extraordinary meeting of the executive committee of the city council, according to NikVesti.

The buildings to be demolished are located on Skisna, Ahronomichna, Zadniprovskoho and Mykola Borovskyi streets. In particular, the building on Skisna Street, which had 18 apartments, was declared to be in disrepair and subject to complete dismantling.

Partial demolition is also planned for two private households on Zelena Balka Street, which have also been damaged.

The fate of a multi-storey building on Kniaz Yaroslav Mudryi Avenue, which was hit on 1 May, is being decided separately.

«According to the conclusions of the emergency response committee, the building with 192 apartments has been declared an emergency and needs to be stabilised to allow for further restoration through overhaul,» said Hennadii Trukhanov.

The affected residents have the opportunity to receive compensation under the state programme «eVidnovlennia». According to the mayor, the owners of three apartments on Yaroslav Mudryi Avenue and five on Skisna Street have submitted their documents so far. Other residents are still processing their title documents.

On the night of 1 May, Russian drones attacked Odesa, killing two people and injuring five others.
