Voznesensk plans to secure a €5.5 million grant to insulate public buildings

The Voznesensk City Council plans to secure up to €5.5 million in grant funding from the Kingdom of Denmark via the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) to implement a project for the comprehensive thermal modernisation of two public buildings.
A draft resolution on the matter has been submitted to the city council for consideration.
As noted in the explanatory memorandum, the project aims to improve the energy efficiency of municipal facilities, reduce the city budget’s expenditure on energy costs, and enhance the community’s energy resilience.
The total cost of the project is up to €6 million. Of this, the city plans to receive up to €5.5 million in the form of a non-repayable grant under the Danish support programme for the Mykolaiv region, administered by NEFCO.
A further minimum of €550,000 (approximately 25.85 million hryvnias), representing around 10% of the project’s cost, is to be provided by the community as co-financing.
The project involves the comprehensive thermal modernisation of two public buildings, which have not yet been identified. This will reduce heat and electricity consumption, lower maintenance costs and create more comfortable conditions for visitors and staff.
In addition, the project plans to implement distributed generation solutions, which should enhance the community’s energy independence and resilience under martial law.
If the decision is approved, the mayor will be authorised to sign the grant agreement and other necessary documents.
It was previously reported that the modular Administrative Services Centre in Voznesensk will undergo renovation with the support of international partners. The expansion will involve increasing the number of offices, as all necessary utilities have already been connected. This will enable the provision of additional services to the public.
It was also reported that a tender had been announced in Voznesensk for the development of design and cost estimate documentation for the construction of a new water intake. The project involves drilling new wells, installing a solar power station and decommissioning old, inactive wells.
