Since the start of the year, international partners have handed over 101 diesel generators to Mykolaiv. These were provided to cultural institutions and critical infrastructure enterprises.
This was reported by Yevhen Homoniuk, regional development manager at the Mykolaiv Development Agency, according to NikVesti.
«Since the start of January 2026, we have received 101 diesel generators. This is specifically for the period from January to 15 May this year. The generators were distributed among social and cultural institutions, as well as handed over to critical infrastructure enterprises,» said Yevhen Homoniuk.
He noted that these generators were provided to the city by the German Federal Agency for Technical Cooperation and the South-East Europe Cooperation Initiative.
«Incidentally, in previous years we were also addressing the issue of our community’s energy resilience. Previously, when USAID was active, we received generators from them, as well as from other German and French partners. This year, Mykolaiv is already being assisted by these two major organisations,» concluded Yevhen Homoniuk.
As a reminder, a few days ago the German charity «Blau-Gelbes Kreuz» donated 16 industrial and diesel generators worth a total of 3.2 million hryvnias to Mykolaiv.
It should be noted that in Mykolaiv in 2025, associations of co-owners of apartment blocks submitted four applications for compensation for the purchase of generators.
At the same time, Mykolaiv was due to receive 50 generators as part of aid from the South-East European Cooperation Initiative (SECI). A total of 300 units of equipment were delivered to Ukraine.
