Schoolchildren in the Mykolaiv region will start their holidays on 5 June: «If they manage to finish the entire curriculum»

Pupils in schools across the Mykolaiv region will start their summer holidays on 5 June.

This was announced by Alla Velikhovska, Director of the Department of Education and Science of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, at a briefing on 22 April, according to NikVesti.

«The academic year must be completed by 1 July, but this by no means implies that children must remain at their desks for the entire period. If a school has been in quarantine or has temporarily switched to remote learning, and pupils have not managed to complete the curriculum, the academic year may be extended. But generally speaking, it will be around 5 June,» said Alla Velikhovska.

As a reminder, the intake of applications for Year 1 for the 2026–2027 academic year began in Mykolaiv on 15 March.
