Ivan Kukhta, head of the Snihurivka Town Military Administration, has stated that the city plans to install around 100 CCTV cameras.
This is reported in the NikVesti article «Between reconstruction and air raid alarms: life in Snihurivka today».
It is noted that the CCTV system will form part of the community’s overall security infrastructure and help to respond more quickly to emergencies.
One of the key institutions in this area is the Security Centre, established in 2025. It brings together in a single facility the work of community police officers, medical staff, the fire brigade, State Emergency Service personnel and deminers from the company «Ukrainian Demining Services».
The centre’s head, Oleksandr Koroshchenko, told NikVesti that last year the unit was called out to fires almost every day.
«2025 was a very difficult year; there were many fires. From May onwards, we were called out to fires across the community almost every day. We also provided assistance to neighbouring communities, particularly Shyroke. Many fires broke out in open areas, so we had to respond constantly. We have four drivers and three firefighters on duty who respond to calls,» said Oleksandr Koroshchenko.
As a reminder, in Mykolaiv, 226 cameras of the «Safe City» video surveillance system are currently not recording, although a total of 701 cameras have been installed in the city.
It was previously reported that Mykolaiv had spent 60.7 million hryvnias over five years on the construction of the «Safe City» information and telecommunications video surveillance and video analytics system. As of December 2025, the project was 95% complete.
It should also be noted that the city recently purchased software for 4.6 million hryvnias, which will automatically process traffic data recorded by the cameras.
