The wife of Oleksandr Kuiemzhy, a soldier from Mykolaiv, has claimed that there was an attempt to conceal the circumstances surrounding her husband's death and is demanding a repeat forensic examination. To this end, she has appealed to the State Bureau of Investigations of Ukraine.
The soldier's wife, Tetiana Kuiemzhy, reported this on her Facebook page.
She says that her husband, Junior Sergeant Oleksandr Kuiemzhy, was killed on 2 March 2026 on the territory of a military unit in Dnipro. After that, a criminal case was opened under the article «Intentional murder».
«However, we are now facing a brazen attempt to cover up the case at the level of the military prosecutor's office. The investigation recently misinformed the family, claiming that Oleksandr was 'in a coma in hospital', although at that moment he was already dead and in the morgue,» the woman said.
She also said that the family had been informed of a fictitious autopsy and that her relatives were now trying to obtain a second examination.
«The initial examination in Dnipro was superficial. Despite visible injuries — a broken nose, a mark from a blow to the back of the head — the experts did not perform a trepanation of the skull. This makes it impossible to prove the real cause of death,» said Tetiana Kuiemzhy.
Currently, she says, there is deliberate sabotage on the part of the military prosecutor's office in Mykolaiv and Dnipro.
«The military prosecutor's office in Mykolaiv today accepted our request for a second autopsy, but openly stated: 'It will be denied,' because the case allegedly belongs to Dnipro. At the same time, the body is located in Mykolaiv. And the Dnipro military prosecutor's office hotline tells us that 'the system is down' and they cannot view the case materials,» said Tetiana Kuiemzhy.
She emphasises that her husband's funeral will take place in two days, on 11 March. After that, she believes, «the evidence of the murder will disappear forever».
«Time is running out. The body is already in Mykolaiv, and the funeral is scheduled for Wednesday, 11 March. They are simply 'kicking us around' between cities, waiting for us to bury Sasha. We need the media's help to break this cycle of bureaucratic sabotage! We demand only one thing — an honest re-autopsy in Mykolaiv with trepanation of the skull before the burial. We have all the documents, recordings of conversations and the case number. My husband defended Ukraine, and now prosecutors are trying to protect his killers,» the woman said.
She has now filed a corresponding statement with the State Bureau of Investigations of Ukraine.
«I filed a statement with the SBI about the delay of the case by the Specialised Prosecutor's Office for the Eastern Region. After that, all my attempts to call them or the Prosecutor General's Office have been unsuccessful. They just don't pick up the phone. I sent the documents to various media outlets. I went to the morgue again, and if we manage to get permission today, we will be able to conduct a re-examination before the burial,» she said.
As a reminder, a 31-year-old military unit commander was detained in Odesa. He is suspected of extorting and receiving more than 400,000 hryvnias from his subordinates from their combat payments.
