Kim reviewed his statements at the beginning of the war and became convinced: «Thanks to the people of Mykolaiv that Ukraine will develop»

Vitaliy Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, published his first message, written on the morning of 24 February 2022, the first day of the full-scale invasion.

On his Telegram channel, he posted a video in which he says that the first two or three days were really scary, but then people rallied together and began to act effectively.

«I had some free time, so I watched the videos from the beginning of the full-scale invasion on 24 February. These are the first messages that were posted on this channel. I relived those feelings a little. I look at myself and see how scary it really was, but I tried not to show it. The first few days, until the 26th, were really scary,» says the official.

Vitalii Kim added that in four years of war, Mykolaiv and the region have grown stronger, and people have become more professional and united:

«I am proud of what the people of Mykolaiv have actually done. I felt a little nostalgic about our unity, about how we came together. Everything has changed a lot in four years of full-scale invasion. We have become more professional, a little tougher and less emotional. Let's say, less naive. Despite everything, Mykolaiv stands, the Mykolaiv region stands, we continue to work. I believe that it is thanks to the people of Mykolaiv that Ukraine will continue to develop,» said Vitalii Kim.
