The Mykolaiv Municipal Installation and Maintenance Enterprise has announced a tender for the purchase of 68 new traffic and pedestrian traffic lights.
The tender was published in the ProZorro public procurement system, according to NikVesti.
The expected cost of the equipment is 1 million 209 thousand 177 hryvnias. The winner of the tender must supply the power supplies to the customer by 25 December this year.
According to the technical specifications, the traffic lights should be powered by a standard 230 V power supply, and small voltage fluctuations are not critical for them. The design allows for the installation of additional sections as needed. The warranty for the traffic lights should be at least 5 years, and the total service life should be at least 15 years.
Traffic lights must be manufactured to the technical requirements of the country of manufacture. Each section has a separate housing with a degree of protection not lower than IP56, and traffic light modules can be removed and installed without dismantling the entire housing.
The set shall include mounts for installation on poles. They should be vertically and horizontally adjustable, made of galvanised metal or durable plastic, and allow for hidden cable routing inside the pole.
As a reminder, teachers and parents of students at gymnasium №52 in the Lisky neighbourhood of Mykolaiv are asking for the return of traffic lights that were removed during the repair work on the road near the school.
In addition, in August this year, a new traffic light was installed at the corner of 3 Slobidska and Marka Kropyvnytskoho streets in Mykolaiv.
We would also like to remind you that on 27 November, the deputies held the second partially in-person meeting of the city council session. However, the meeting was not completed. The session lasted about two hours, and Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych announced a break until 4 December. At the next meeting, the deputies will consider the reallocation of funds in the 2025 budget to unblock spending on unprotected budget items.
Traffic lights during power outages in Mykolaiv
In October 2024, 36 traffic lights were equipped with uninterruptible power supplies to help the devices operate without power in Mykolaiv. Their cost was 4.9 million hryvnias.
In particular, such traffic lights operate in three sections of the city: Pushkinska — Velyka Morska, Pushkinska — Nikolska and at the intersection of Sadovaya Street and Tsentralny Avenue.
The city council explained that uninterruptible power supplies will be installed at traffic lights at intersections with the busiest traffic. In the event of an emergency power outage or blackouts, they can operate autonomously for 12 hours.
